All I Want for Christmas is You! And a Chew Stick! :)

My foster parents put up the Christmas tree last night and I have taken a nap or two underneath. The tree smells great!

This morning, my foster mom gave me a chew stick and, boy, is it yummy!

As much as I love my foster home, I would love even more to be under the Christmas tree at my forever home.

But I am patiently waiting!  And enjoying my chew stick while I wait!

In the Past Two Months

I have been in my foster home for just over two months.  I have gotten better in every way and have learned so much!!  Here are just a few things:  My skin and my coat look so much better! My "dry eye" condition is greatly improved, and I am on a minimal amount of eye medication, just once a day.  I rarely bark unless the other dogs start barking first.  I don't growl at the other dogs if they get near me in a dog bed.  I don't growl at them at all anymore.  I am much better about going outside.  I share my toys, even my favorite ones.  I don't chew on things I shouldn't.  I have only had a few accidents in the house since I have been here, and it has been a long time since I had any (and that was when my foster mom waited too long to take me out!).  I do just fine overnight, though, without needing to go, and I also do just fine when my foster mom and dad are at work.  My weight is perfect! I am good when I need to have a bath.  I am learning about getting my teeth brushed.  I take a treat much more gently from my foster parents' hands now than I did when I first arrived - I used to take it so fast (because I was so excited and so glad to have a treat) but now I have myself under control.  I do love treats, though!

Wow!  What a long list of things!

This is what a foster home is all about. It gives dogs like me a chance to do things like get cleaned up, work on behavior, learn to get along, and take care of any health issues in order to get all ready for a forever home!

So, I am still waiting for someone to realize what a super duper dog I am!

And, in the meantime, today I was hanging out by the heat vent with Grace (far left), Hubble (Yorkie in front) and Phoebe (the cat).

Snack Time!

Here I am with my dog friends who live in my foster home. There are six of us, including me, and then there is a cat too.

We are waiting for a treat which we are getting in the last picture.  We eat breakfast and dinner, and then usually have a snack in the middle of the day.  I love snacks!  And breakfast! And dinner!  It is so nice to live in a home and always have enough food. When I was a stray dog, I did not have enough food, and no one took care of me. I was not healthy and I did not look well. Look how good I look now that my foster parents have been taking care of me!  I think I am a beautiful girl.  I am all ready for my forever home.  Just waiting....

Another Favorite!

Here I am with Jenny on the Kuranda dog bed.  We each have a hoof to chew on.  This is a favorite of mine!  The truth is that I have a lot of favorite things to chew on (and you know this if you have been reading my blog), but these might be my MOST favorite.
And here I am with a hoof again!  You can also see Grace (grey dog to the left side of the picture) and Jenny (beagle) to the right.  They live here with me.

I love to chew on things!  When I first got to my foster home, I chewed on a couple of things that I should not have chewed on.  But I learned very quickly what the rules are, and have not chewed on anything but dog toys and hooves since!  I am such a good girl!

And I am still waiting and waiting for someone out there to see that I would be the perfect addition to their home.

Til then, I will chew some more on a hoof!

Resting

One of the things I like to do is to hang out in a dog bed, look around a bit, and then take a nap.  Here I am, doing just those things!

It is so great being a dog!  :)

My Yellow Zucchini!!

My foster mom and dad have quite a few toys here at their home but my new FAVORITE is the yellow zucchini!  It just arrived about a week ago in the "Barkbox" box. I race to this toy first thing in the morning and carry it around all day, and sleep with it too!  My foster mom washed it yesterday because it was getting a little dirty.

The squeaker died on the first or second day but it doesn't matter. I love this toy!!!

Getting My Hair Brushed

Here I am right after I got my hair brushed. My foster mom set the brushes down and snapped my picture. I really don't mind being brushed and I feel good and look great after it is over. Marina is in this picture with me.  We are both here in this spot because it is right by the heat vent!  So, it is nice and warm although a little crowded on this one pad for the two of us.

I am doing just fine here at my foster home.  Last night I showed my foster mom how smart I am. I was sitting on a dog bed and it was just before bedtime. I sleep in a crate at night because I like my crate and because I am a foster dog (house rules).  My crate door was open, and about 5 feet away from me.  My foster mom said "Pandy, time to get in your crate."  She didn't point to my crate or anything.  That is all she said and did.  And, as soon as she said it, I got right up and walked into my crate!  I am such a good girl! And oh so smart!

Thanks for reading my blog!  Please think about filling out an adoption application for me. I am continuing to wait for my perfect forever home.

A Favorite Spot

I am resting here right by the seat where my foster mom works on the computer.  I love to sit on the floor close to her and take a nap. Sometimes she reaches down to give me a belly rub! She is so nice to me and tells me everyday how much she loves me.

But I know she is also hoping that the right person will fill out an adoption application so that I can go to my forever home.  She tells me that it can take some time for the right person to show up and also that not just anyone will get to adopt me - it has to be the right person - and, in the meantime, she said she loves having me here.

It is Toenail Clipping Time!!

Every other weekend my foster parents gather up all the dogs and check their toenails.  And they give us treats while toenails are being clipped!!  I have already had my toenails done (and I was very calm and patient) and now Marina is having her nails clipped while I wait for a treat along with Jenny (beagle) and Hubble (yorkie).

Favorite Toy

I have just had a bath and I feel so good and clean!  And now I am playing with my favorite toy, the green squeaky Kong toy.  I love to make it squeak and to chew on it.

On the Sofa with Jenny!

Jenny and I were taking a nap on the sofa this afternoon.  My foster mom is proud of how I am doing so well now with the other dogs.  I used to growl every once in a while when one of them would come near me when I was sleeping but I haven't done that for a long time!  I am such a good girl!

I Have Had a Good Week!

I have had a good week!  I went to the vet and got my eyes checked again and they are getting much better!  I only need my eye medicine once a day instead of twice! And my vet is helping me with my dry skin, and it is better too!

And guess what one of the vet techs said to my foster mom?  She said that she wished she had room at her house for me - she said she would adopt me if she had room!  My foster mom said that this vet tech has never said that about any other foster dog she has had, and my foster mom has had quite a few foster dogs.  So, wow, I must be pretty special!

I think I AM pretty special.  :)

Don't you?

Sitting by the Window

Here I am, watching my foster mom while she is outside walking a couple of my foster sisters.

And here I am, inside.  I like sitting here and watching the action inside the house and outside too!

Hey there! I am Pandora!

Here I am in my foster home!  In this picture, I had just come in from outside and I was taking a nap. I had only been in my foster home for a few days, so my foster mom kept a leash on me, just in case she needed to steer me in the right direction. She doesn't need to keep a leash on me anymore because I know what to do and what not to do. You can see three of the five other dogs who live here with me.  I am pretty nice to them and they are nice to me too!

And so I am hanging out, waiting for the just right person to fill out an application to adopt me. I have so much love to give, and will make someone a terrific companion!
