I have been in my foster home for just over two months. I have gotten better in every way and have learned so much!! Here are just a few things: My skin and my coat look so much better! My "dry eye" condition is greatly improved, and I am on a minimal amount of eye medication, just once a day. I rarely bark unless the other dogs start barking first. I don't growl at the other dogs if they get near me in a dog bed. I don't growl at them at all anymore. I am much better about going outside. I share my toys, even my favorite ones. I don't chew on things I shouldn't. I have only had a few accidents in the house since I have been here, and it has been a long time since I had any (and that was when my foster mom waited too long to take me out!). I do just fine overnight, though, without needing to go, and I also do just fine when my foster mom and dad are at work. My weight is perfect! I am good when I need to have a bath. I am learning about getting my teeth brushed. I take a treat much more gently from my foster parents' hands now than I did when I first arrived - I used to take it so fast (because I was so excited and so glad to have a treat) but now I have myself under control. I do love treats, though!
Wow! What a long list of things!
This is what a foster home is all about. It gives dogs like me a chance to do things like get cleaned up, work on behavior, learn to get along, and take care of any health issues in order to get all ready for a forever home!
So, I am still waiting for someone to realize what a super duper dog I am!
And, in the meantime, today I was hanging out by the heat vent with Grace (far left), Hubble (Yorkie in front) and Phoebe (the cat).
